9th-12th Grades

MICS0015Honors, Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement (AP), and STEM courses provide accelerated studies for students of exceptional ability and motivation.  Students explore areas of particular interest through the variety of electives offered.The high school program at Merritt Island Christian School concentrates on a core curriculum with a traditional college preparatory course of study.  Students take courses at levels appropriate to their abilities.

During the four years of high school, students complete a course of study that prepares them for college and life’s challenges with confidence and discernment.

Kindergarten-6th Grade

All subject areas are taught from a Biblical worldview including mathematics, science, Language Arts, reading, history and geography, and media and technology. Intermediate grades 4-6 rotate classes with teachers instructing them in specific subject areas similar to an Upper school schedule in a modified approach.The elementary program at Merritt Island Christian School provides academic instruction for grades kindergarten through sixth. The Preschool Academy

Preschool-feature2The goal of The Preschool Academy is to prepare students to enter kindergarten with the readiness skills to succeed.  Offered in a nurturing and caring environment, a Bible-based curriculum with a strong emphasis in phonics is taught.  The curriculum is complimented by activities to grow and develop each domain of the whole child.The Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program (VPK) for 4 year olds also includes computers in each classroom, allowing students to use an interactive, self-paced software program to further reinforce reading readiness, early writing skills, and beginning math concepts.  The preschool curriculum is supplemented with Spanish on a weekly basis.

    Science Night will be on Thursday, January 26th from 6-8 p.m. Science Fair projects will be on display and there will be many FUN SCIENCE activities available to students that night!

  • Priority Enrollment for Returning Families

    Returning MICS families may re-enroll their students for the 2017-2018 school year beginning Monday, January 30th. Families will receive detailed re-enrollment information and instructions prior to this date. For questions contact MICS Admissions Director Margaret Davis at 453-2710 ext. 401.

    The annual Duke TIP Program Banquet will be on Tuesday, February 7th at 6 p.m. in the Atrium. Parents of students who qualify will be notified prior to this even.

  • Class Pictures

    February 13, 2017

    Class pictures will be taken of students in Preschool-11th grade on Monday, February 13th. Students should wear their school uniforms. Picture order envelopes will be sent home prior to picture day and order and payment should be returned on the day of pictures. Checks should be made payable to Skip Combs.
