Application and Acceptance (K-12)

Students seeking admission to Merritt Island Christian School must apply and submit all required documents to the Admissions Office. Complete applications include the following.

Elementary (Grades K-4) & Lower Middle School (Grades 5-6)

  • Student Application
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Copy of previous year and current year report cards. Kindergarten applicants who have attended VPK or another preschool program for four-year-old children, submit a VPK progress report if applicable.
  • Copy of most recent standardized test scores. Kindergarten applicants who have attended a VPK program, submit copies of the VPK FAST Early Literary assessments.
  • Completed Teacher Referral (accessed within the application)
  • Completed Administrator or Guidance Counselor Referral (accessed within the application)
  • Family interview with the elementary principal
  • $100 non-refundable application fee per student

Upper Middle School (Grades 7-8) & High School (Grades 9-12)

  • Student Application
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Copy of previous year and current year report cards.
  • Copy of most recent standardized test scores.
  • Copy of high school transcript (9th-12th applicants)
  • Completed Teacher Referral - Language Arts/English (accessed within the application)
  • Completed Teacher Referral - Mathematics (accessed within the application)
  • Completed Administrator or Guidance Counselor Referral (accessed within the application)
  • Completed Student Questionnaire (Admissions will email this questionnaire to the applicant)
  • Family interview with the secondary principal
  • $100.00 non-refundable application fee per student

All applicants are placed in a wait pool.  Once their application is complete, the Admissions Team determines if the applicant will move forward through the acceptance process contingent on openings available. These applicants will be scheduled for assessment testing and the family will meet with the division principal. After a thorough review of all application materials, assessment test results, and the family interview, the Admissions Team meets to determine an applicant’s acceptance or non-acceptance, which will be communicated to you quickly.  If accepted, the last step will be to complete enrollment procedures.
