At Merritt Island Christian School, chapel is an integral part of our mission to lead students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Throughout the school year, students participate in four age-appropriate chapel services each week, serving our Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, and High School divisions.
Chapel provides students with opportunities to worship, learn from God’s Word, and grow together as a Christ-centered community. Speakers may include the school chaplain, local pastors, missionaries, Christian business leaders, faculty members, and other ministry partners. High school seniors who are pursuing ministry or Christian service also have opportunities to share their testimonies and biblical messages with their peers.
A unique aspect of our Middle School and High School chapels is student-led worship. Students are encouraged to use their God-given talents by serving on worship teams, leading music, operating sound and technology, and helping create an atmosphere that points their peers toward Christ. These leadership opportunities allow students to actively participate in worship while developing confidence, character, and a heart for ministry.
For students who desire to publicly profess their faith through baptism, special baptism services may be incorporated into chapel, allowing them to celebrate this important step alongside their school family.
Each year, MICS also hosts Spiritual Emphasis Week, a special week dedicated to daily chapel services focused on challenging students to deepen their faith and commitment to Christ. Guest speakers present engaging, age-appropriate messages centered on a biblical theme, encouraging students to grow spiritually and live out their faith with purpose and conviction.
Through chapel, students are encouraged to know Christ more deeply, worship Him wholeheartedly, and boldly live out their faith both on campus and beyond.
