At Merritt Island Christian School, we believe Christ’s command to make disciples extends beyond our local community and reaches to the ends of the earth. Through international mission opportunities, our students experience firsthand what it means to serve others, share the Gospel, and live out their faith in diverse cultures.
Each year, MICS students have the opportunity to participate in a mission trip to Guatemala, partnering with local ministries to meet both physical and spiritual needs. Students engage in a variety of ministry activities, including sharing testimonies, leading worship, presenting devotionals and dramas, participating in evangelism efforts, serving in churches and schools, distributing food to families in need, ministering to children and the elderly, and assisting with construction projects that provide homes for those facing poverty.
Our senior class also participates in an annual mission experience in Costa Rica through Joshua Expeditions. Working alongside Metro Ministries, students serve local churches and communities through projects such as painting, landscaping, and facility improvements. They also have the opportunity to engage directly with families by inviting children and parents to youth ministry programs and serving through worship, drama presentations, games, face painting, and other outreach activities designed to share the love of Christ.
These experiences challenge students to grow in their faith, develop a heart for service, and recognize that God can use them to make an eternal impact wherever He calls them to serve. Through global outreach, our students learn that being the hands and feet of Jesus is not limited by geography—it is a calling that extends to every nation and every community.
