” Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” ~Proverbs 22:6

At Merritt Island Christian School we strive for excellence in academics, college-preparation, and spiritual development. We seek to provide a place where our students grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, and socially in an encouraging yet challenging environment, while knowing that they are loved and can grow in confidence with the skills afforded to them by their educational experience here at MICS. These skills include but are not limited to the following:

  • Complex problem solving
  • Critical thinking
  • Creativity
  • People management
  • Coordinating with others
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Judgement and decision making
  • Service orientation
  • Negotiation
  • Cognitive flexibility

It is our mission, in partnership with our families, to lead students to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, inspire academic excellence, and equip them to impact their community through the Biblical principles of character, leadership, and service. We seek to provide an outstanding education grounded in a Biblical worldview focused on the whole child. We understand that we must all work together for the ultimate success of our students. It is important that parents, teachers, coaches, and administration work together to provide the best education possible.

Above all, our goal is to teach children to seek Christ in all situations and to glorify Him in all we do. We firmly believe in Proverbs 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go, and when his is old he will not turn from it. We strive not only to instill Christ-like character in our students, but also to equip them in how to apply scripture to their daily lives. It is a privilege and a blessing to serve as the Middle School/High School Guidance Counselor of such an outstanding institution of learning and be a part of what God is doing here at MICS!
